Registration Types

Registrations are the primary means by which suppliers provide provide profile information to their customers. There are three kinds of registrations.

  • A Full Registration results from a supplier submitting a completed registration form after receiving an invitation. A full registration contains all fields that are available to each supplier.

  • A Partial Registration results from a connected supplier adding a new remittance address to their profile.

  • An Edit Registration results when a supplier modifies a connected address, either remittance or order (if enabled).

Partial and Edit Registrations do not contain all fields contained in the supplier’s profile. The table below shows which fields are included and excluded:

Because Partial and Edit Registrations are the result of a connected vendor adding or modifying a remittance address, these registrations will always result in a TIN match.

The most common case is that a Partial Registration results in adding a new address, while an Edit Registration often results in overwriting or updating the existing address.

Vendor Updates vs. Edit Registrations

Most modifications made by suppliers to their company profile will be delivered to their customers as a Vendor Update.

The only exceptions to this approach are changes a supplier makes to their remittance address (or their order address, if they are enabled in the account). These modifications will be delivered to their customers as Edit Registrations.

The reason for this is that modifications to a remittance address could indicate different actions in the ERP. For example, if the supplier moved to a new location, they might just edit their remittance address instead of adding a new one. By sending these changes through registration routing, it provides customers with the opportunity to determine how to handle the changed address.
